Dallas: DFW home prices in July were up 10% from a year earlier, continuing record highs above pre-recession peaks. Texas prices were up 9.1%. Barclays chief economist predicts a gradual slowing of increases, estimating a 9.5% rise this year and about 7.5% in 2014.

Dallas: DFW home prices rose a record 8% in June from a year ago in the S&P Home Price Index, now surpassing pre-recession peaks. The number of foreclosed houses for sale in down 30% from the worst recession  period. Sales were up 27% in July, while local inventory fell 16%.

Dallas: Through July, condominium sales are almost 40% ahead of 2012, and July prices were 17% higher than a year ago. Condo and townhome sales are up almost 50% in central Dallas, Oak Lawn and Uptown. And, in east Dallas, sales are up 66%. Dallas: North Texas home sales were up 27% in July, with median prices up 12%. Area homes sales of 9,397 is the largest monthly total on record. So far in 2013, around 53,000 area homes have sold, 21% more than 2012.
